Solution Discovery ServicesBring us the problem. We'll help define the solution.
You don't need a specification or a chosen tech stack. In a fixed-price discovery sprint we work through the problem with you and hand over a plan your team, or ours, can build from.
What you walk away with
Documents your team, or an investor, can read and act on.
Business case
What the problem costs you today, what solving it is worth, and how you'll know it worked.
Architecture blueprint
Diagrams of the whole system: hosting, data, integrations, and where the security boundaries sit.
Requirements document
User stories with acceptance criteria and edge cases, ranked by what matters most to the business.
Clickable wireframes
Low-fidelity screens you can click through and test with the people who'll use them.
Technology recommendation
The languages, databases, hosting, and vendors that fit your case, compared side by side.
Roadmap and fixed quote
The build split into milestones, each with a timeline and a fixed price.
Who does what
Software takes the routine, rules-based work. Anything that needs experience stays with a senior engineer.
Handled by software
- Summarizing interviews, documents, and existing systems
- Drafting user stories and acceptance criteria
- Comparing tools and vendors against your requirements
- Producing first drafts of diagrams and wireframes
Owned by our engineers
- Deciding what to build first, and what not to build
- Architecture and security choices
- Cost and time estimates
- The final plan you sign off on
Eight steps from problem to plan
A sprint usually takes about two weeks. Each step ends with something you can review.
-
Business problem
What's slowing the business down, what it costs, and who it affects.
-
Deep dive
We talk to the people involved, map how the work happens today, and note every constraint.
-
Requirements
Business goals turned into user stories, acceptance criteria, and needs like speed and security.
-
Research and feasibility
What's technically possible, which integrations exist, which data rules apply, and whether the numbers add up.
-
Solution design
Wireframes and screen flows, checked with the people who'll use them.
-
Architecture
Hosting, database design, security boundaries, and the APIs between systems.
-
Roadmap and estimate
What goes in the first release and what can wait, split into fixed-price milestones.
-
Build readiness
A plan detailed enough that our engineers, or yours, can start building from it.
Who discovery is for
Whether you're shaping a first product or replacing an old system.
Founders with a new product
Turn an early idea into a scope an engineer can build and an investor can follow. We check that it's feasible, cut the first release down to what matters, and catch expensive mistakes before any code exists.
- A first-release scope and user journeys
- A feasibility check on the riskiest parts
- System diagrams you can show investors
- A budget and timeline that fit your runway
Teams outgrowing spreadsheets
For when spreadsheets, disconnected tools, and manual steps start costing more than they save. We look at how work moves between people and design one system around it.
- Where work gets stuck between teams
- One data model and an integration plan
- Which manual steps to automate first
- A migration plan that keeps the business running
Product and IT leaders
For projects that cross departments. We get engineering, product, and leadership to agree on the constraints, the security rules, and a design that can change without a rewrite.
- Legacy modernization and cloud migration options
- Security, compliance, and access rules
- Multi-tenant and service boundaries
- Build, buy, or partner, compared
How you pay
Fixed fee
Discovery is a short sprint, usually two weeks, for one fixed fee. If you go ahead with the build within 60 days, the whole fee counts toward it.
